Position Summary

The Admission Counselor will provide exceptional service to prospective, applied, and admitted students. In this role, you will coordinate outreach efforts, counsel prospective students, and manage the application process to ensure a seamless transition from file completion to matriculation.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Outreach:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment and admission plans for assigned geographic regions.
  • Represent the University of Evansville at high schools, college fairs, and other recruitment events.
  • Deliver engaging presentations to students, parents, educators, and alumni about the university.

Student Counseling:

  • Advise and counsel prospective students throughout the admissions process.
  • Conduct interviews with prospective students to assess fit and provide guidance.

Application Management:

  • Evaluate and review applications for admission.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure timely communication and support for applicants.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Assist with special projects and admissions office initiatives.
  • Provide weekly or bi-weekly updates on recruitment activities and progress toward goals.

Technology and Communication:

  • Utilize technology and data to assess and enhance recruitment performance.
  • Leverage social media platforms and digital tools to connect with prospective students.
  • Strong knowledge of web and graphic design is a plus.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent writing and organizational abilities.
  • Technology proficiency across multiple platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel, including by air.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years of experience in admissions, student recruitment, or related fields.
  • Experience with social media, web design, and graphic design.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet recruitment goals and work under deadlines.
